Translation update... Michael is now into chapter 4 of Hebrews. During the last week of February, Michael made a trip to Juárez, but the translators couldn’t get there from their village because of the rains!

Our next meeting in Juárez will probably be during the 1st week of April.

We look forward to the visit of Bishop David and Rachel Leake, from April to June. David’s unique knowledge of the Toba language will help us during the rest of the checking process, which is due to finish this year.
Health matters... Ill health has affected us a lot over the past few months.

Before Christmas Christopher had a flu-type virus which he passed on to Daddy. Normally Michael doesn’t suffer much from these things, but this time he was out of action for nearly a week.

But it’s Silvia who’s been suffering worst of all. For over a year now, she’s had symptoms of an early menopause, which particularly in the past 4-5 months has given her much anxiety and depression. With good medical care she is now recovering, but needs lots of love and prayer support.

Praise the Lord, all nations!

Praise him, all peoples!!

His love for us is strong

and his faithfulness is eternal.

(Psalm 117)

Church news... At the end of last year, our church entered a time of crisis. Lay leader Teresa returned to Buenos Aires to resolve difficult family situations, and Pastor José suffered “burn-out” at church and at work (he’s a lawyer). In February José had a serious disagreement with Silvia and was not willing to take into consideration her health situation. We felt a lack of love and understanding on his part, and so are currently unsure where things go from here.

Weather... Since mid January we’ve had rain nearly every day. Salta has had double the average rainfall for the first two months of the year, and you may have heard of the serious flooding along the Pilcomayo River, with many indigenous communities being badly affected.

The Tobas, further downstream in Formosa province, have not yet been flooded.

Greetings from northern Argentina!  Four months since the last update: sincere apologies! Michael nearly finished a page for Christmas, but in the end ran out of time.

Then came summer holidays and then getting ready for the new school year at the beginning of March.
