• The typesetting of the Toba NT is now finished! - Give thanks to God for this major achievement!
• Printing - This is now being done in Brazil: please pray there will be no holdups and that the New Testaments arrive safely, ready for the presentation on 29th August.
• Michael’s role during 2010 - It has been agreed between the Diocese of Northern Argentina and CMS that Michael should spend this year helping the Tobas to read their New Testaments (once they arrive), with short courses and basic literacy materials. Please pray for God’s provision during this year and for future projects related to the translation work.
• Toba churches - pray for pastors, deacons and their families, especially Pastor Kichi who is the Toba representative on the Diocesan Council. Pray too for René Pereira’s ministry amongst the Toba and Wichí young people. Pray for the translators Osvaldo, José and Hilario and their families.
• Anglican Church of N Argentina - pray that God would raise up new leaders with vision and spiritual authority to take on the challenges of today’s church. Pray for Bishop Nick Drayson and Catherine based in Juárez: for effective ministry in building up and strengthening the Toba, Wichí and Chorote churches.
• Family health - Michael was recently diagnosed with diabetes, for which he is now being treated with a combination of diet, exercise and a drug called glimepiride. After just a week of this treatment, normal blood and urine test results were achieved, leaving Michael feeling very relieved. Remember also Kevin and Chris who are often targets for the enemy’s attacks. Pray for safety on the roads as we travel, both with the chaotic traffic in Salta and for Michael on his 300 mile trips to Juárez.
• Argentina - on 25th May this year the nation celebrated 200 years of independence. Pray for President Cristina Fernández and the national and provincial governments, to seek God’s perspective in tackling recession, inflation and unemployment as well as corruption and injustice.
Please pray for the printing of the Toba New Testament, now being done in Brazil, and for the safe arrival of the NTs back in Argentina, in time for the presentation on 29th August.
Pray for Michael’s health, recently diagnosed with diabetes. Treatment with diet, exercise and a drug called glimepiride seems to be working well.
